HARD CORE

Eating an energy bar at 5.30pm seems to help me perform excellently, giving me energy while not making me feel heavy. gonna keep doing this.

CONDITIONING:

Sprints forth, back and forth (usual poles to dumpster)

high knees back and forth and back

criss cross runs forth and back with medicine balls

Sprint forth and back

sledgehammer tire drills 30 reps

mountain climbers 160 individual reps

sledgehammer drills 20 reps

AB WORK:

3 stepped staggered crunch + leg extension x 10 for each leg

V-ups 15 reps

4 stepped staggered crunch + leg extension x 10 for each leg

sit up hold 4 counts, twist left 4 counts, twist right 4 counts, back down x 30 reps

Reflections: BURN. definitely felt it. can’t do V ups for nuts but the other stuff were good workouts that i definitely want to incorporate.

HEAVY BAG WORK:

  • 1 2 3 2 pivot 2
  • 1 2 5 3
  • double end bag: practice throwing uppercuts and hooks and move, practice with speed and light punches with heavy fast punches
  • freestyle on bag 2 rounds
  • uppercut bag
  • rope workout 30 seconds, squat up and down, criss cross

REFLECTION:

really great workout

Thomas the pro boxer did great leading us despite his first time although I wished cardio segment was more intense and longer. I really appreciated his kind encouragement and reassurance. Ab work was great, felt the burn, although I still feel it’s not as sufficient as WWB workouts. I might have to go in and train on my own or smth.

loving the art direction

eleventheleven:

Pan Macmillan publishers approached A Friend Of Mine to design and art direct ‘The Good Life’, the latest cook book by celebrity chef Adrian Richardson of La Luna Restaurant. In a saturated market, the book needed to have a point of difference and convey Adrian’s warm and passionate approach to food. An art direction style that incorporated the typography was developed, with hand-drawn titles and recreated in various mediums from ink, to flour and pastry. These physical pieces of type were then photographed in the same tone as the food and story telling images, creating a harmony and unity between type and image, and reinforcing the authenticity of Adrian’s philosophy around food. The seamless movement between type and image, and imagery and format, was continued through the book cover, in which the tablecloth used in the cover image extends to the bookmark ribbon.
